Statement of Faith
Living Water Christian Academy serves families from many different churches and several different denominations. We foster respectful debate and encourage students to study the Scriptures. We must always be “ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.” (1 Peter 3:15)
We believe:
- The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life.
Psalm 119:105 & 160; 12:6; II Timothy 3:12-17; II Peter 1:20-21
- In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Peter 1:2
- That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins, according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.
Matthew 1:18-21; Romans 6; John 20:27-29; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Acts 1:9-10; Luke 22:67-70; Hebrews 4:14-16; 1 John 2:1-2
- That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict people of their sin; regenerate the believing sinner; and provide help, comfort, and intercession for those who are weak.
John 14:16-17 & 16:5-15; Romans 8:26-27
- That mankind was created in the image of God as male and female but sinned and is therefore lost. Our Good Shepherd seeks and saves those who are lost. One day, every knee will bow to Him.
Genesis 1-3; Romans 3:23; Psalm 23; Luke 19:10; John 10:7-30; Philippians 2:1-16
- In the personal and imminent return of Christ to the earth. Until that day comes, we should pursue truth, goodness, beauty, and the building of God’s Kingdom here on earth, despite any tribulations we face.
Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:2-11; Philippians 4:28; Romans 5:1-5; Titus 2:11-14 & 3:1-8; Matthew 6:10
- In the bodily resurrection of the dead. Eternal life is promised to those who confess Jesus as Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead. Salvation from eternal damnation is maintained by faith in God and His power at work in us.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:40-44 & 51-58; Romans 10:9-10; Matthew 25:31-46; Ephesians 3:20-21; 1 John 5:11-13
